About the Dorcas Club The Dorcas Club started in 1984. The central aim is to promote ‘community well-being ’ through projects at the centre. The Dorcas Club has managed projects at the Dorcas Centre including, ‘Children with Special Educational Needs’ and ‘Job Club’. The well-used centre with a dedicated team of people is also involved in other projects designed to enable and broaden their work in the community. The Dorcas Club is located in the vibrant multi-cultural, multi-faith and non-faith North-West Birmingham community of Handsworth. The centre has been going for over 35 years and is at the heart of this vibrant community with a multi-cultural shopping area with stores that cater for African & Caribbean, Asian and Eastern European communities.
